Adding connections / time slots in bulk

SupportAdding connections / time slots in bulk

Hi Nikola, Here's my situation: I work with 20+ workers (and more coming), and 20 services with each their own durations that vary from 2 to 24 hours. Each worker is available for each service and duration. Appointments can be booked between 10.00 and 0.00, with 30-minute increments, i.e. from 9.00, 9.30, 10.00, 10.30 etc. all up to midnight. This means I will have to connect 20 workers X 20 services X 26 time-slots X 2 locations = 20,800 entries, plus 1040 entries for every additional worker that will join us. This will be a hell of a job in your web interface.  Is there a more efficient way to make these connections in the EA back-end? Many thanks, Les

Hi,   that sounds like a big problem to the current connections system. Now you are dealing with one connection at the time. I will have to check how to process that. With that amount of data it will be real struggle to cover everything even if things are better organized. I can add bulk add of connections but that will make even greater mess. :) Adding large amount of connections was a bottle neck from beginning. I will have to do something about it really soon.   Best regards, Nikola

Thanks Nikola, I guess I’ll wait with further testing / implementation / purchasing until you have found a more efficient method / structure for this 🙂

Good luck!

Perhaps a suggestion for a temporary quick fix: create a ‘Connect All’ option which simply automatically connects all workers with all services and all locations? No idea if that’s doable, just thinking out loud 🙂

Hi Les, I can add that bulk creation as a first step in next like 7 days. You will be able to select multiple locations / services / workers so at the end result will combination of all of those. Is that fine with you? :)

Best regards,
Nikola

That SOUNDS like it could work 🙂 The only thing that still may be an issue is the time slots. For instance:

If I connect a 2-hour service, and set the connected worker to work from 10.00 – 0.00, it only gives the user to book the service at 10:00-12:00, 12:00-14:00, 14:00-16.00 etc, but not from 10:30-12:30, 11:00-13:00, 11:30-13:30 etc… In order to make that possible, I must still duplicate the connection multiple times to be available from 10:00-12:00, from 10:30-12:30 etc. Is there a way to tackle this issue as well?

Hi Les,   regarding last comment, I can add option for that but that will leave a empty space in time table. :)   Best regards, Nikola
